Mindfulness with breathing is the title of Buddhadasa's book that I use as the blueprint for Zandtaomed. As far as I am aware, Buddhadasa wrote this from his understanding of the Buddha's Anapanasati Sutta. When I use the term anapanasati bhavana I am talking about the mental development that comes from mindfulness with breathing. Throughout the Companion I am talking of developments that come from meditation. these are mainly mental, some emotional and some physical all of which need to be integrated so that we understand the path in nature, what Buddhadasa calls Dhamma. In this chapter I specifically want to examine bhavana - mental development.
