Addon B - Faith Vacuum and Cults

was a notion developed in Viveka-Zandtao. Young people are attracted to cults because in mainstream society they find nothing to attract their faith. But within cults they can often find that attraction but because of narcissism present with in the cult it is a place to be avoided - especially as there is often sexual exploitation present in these cults. In cults seekers find this attraction for their paths and a community of understanding that was not met in mainstream society. To escape such cults seekers need to find a genuine home for their faith, and this cannot necessarily be found by returning people to the family home. zandtao has no knowledge of the people involved in helping cult-followers from being deprogrammed but feels that a good practice would help the deprogramming, without a practice the young people will be vulnerable because of the space left by leaving the cult. The faith vacuum that was filled by the cult needs to be filled by this good practice. Such a practice would hold that space for consciousness, and use the 8 components to release the restrictions arising from their upbringings - and possibly developed within the cult:- The more we understand about upbringing as considered in the development model (Addon A), the more we recognise that the seeker working through their societal conditioning have legitimate needs that are not being met in the family home however caring parents think they are being. If those parents are not aware of the path putting a seeker back in that environment could be detrimental. Being a seeker is fundamental.
