"As soon as zandtao the seeker crossed this threshold of autonomy, engagement with daily life got disrupted. Here this is described as disturbance, and it is this disturbance that the warning is about." This is how zandtao began his warning once he crossed the threshold - that he later called the threshold of autonomy. He described this crossing and warning in terms of what he was working on in Viveka-Zandtao but it now reads dated and specific.
zandtao interprets the Diamond Sutra as a warning to seekers (who begin Prajna-Paramita as Thay amongst others possibly described similar thresholds) to maintain their practice. As time has passed it is hard to grasp the full meaning of what happened in this crossing, but it led zandtao to write the warning. And this warning he interpreted from the Diamond Sutra to continue and maintain his practice.
zandtao can now only perceive this warning in retrospect, a kind of "no winning post!" so don't stop practicing. zandtao never felt his threshold was a winning post even though something significant clearly happened. And it was significant as autonomy brought about change as Ch4 reads. But what didn't change was that he continued to practice.
Interestingly with MwB the details of his practice updated with new insights from study, and that updating process also happened during autonomy. But practice has mostly never stopped.
