This is the name zandtao has given to the period of time from Jan 5 to Feb 11 where he became immersed, disrupted, and then came out of it. It has been a good learning process for zandbagging leading to an important change in practice.
It is called the Venez Debacle because it started as a zandbagging response to the international crime of Trump invading Venezuela and kidnapping Maduro (later zandtao realised this zandbagging response was beyond his zandbagging boundaries and it contained boundary errors). This crime of itself caused attachment. As he was zandbagging about this, in a Crispin Flintoff clip Jeremy referred to National Security Strategy, and this led to zandtao examining changes in the Monroe doctrine - a standard zandbagging exercise concerning the system-of-accumulation within boundary.
At this point he was beginning to get sucked in, and learning that he had not integrated the freedom view that he had explored as Dogmatons in Yoxa Love. He began yoyoing around the "Dictatorship of the proletariat" and Freedom as libertarianism. By this point he was following Minnesota, had lost atammayata, and was getting immersed in the struggle. zandtao even recognised that he was immersed - out of alignment, but a week later had not got equanimity - rebalanced.
But he did begin to see that it was a practice issue, he had become immersed because his practice was wrong. At this point he began considering the path as compassionate liberation, and recognising that compassion and freedom needed to be integrated. He recognised that these two egos were polarising the grassroots rather than integrating, and when it was combined with the activist's ego had led to zandtao's immersion.
As usual he had been trying to make sense through writing as advice but because of all the changes he kept having to make he knew his process was wrong; as a result he setup a journalling page.
Having established the zeersight of compassionate liberation , he realised what a huge ask pathtivism was leading to zandbagging advice Pathtivism - a Huge Ask where he recognised what pathtivism meant; in this advice he discussed how he changed his practice to cope. Setting up boundaries of activism was the next advice he gave. (As part of a Huge Ask he has included as separate advice a journal of what led to the Huge Ask because he considered it was worth reading, but it is separate so that the seeker is clear about the changes in practice put forward in Huge Ask.)
Having become clear as to how he was to avoid any future immersion, zandtao went back and edited the pathtivism and venezuela advice - noting that he cannot call this advice because of boundary errors. However seeing the system-of-accumulation as Monroe doctrine is not beyond boundary - that has been checked and included. And it has led to future work - the National Defence Strategy with a response from China - to start as journalling next; this will be finished in due course with no agitation - LINK to be added.
